The PUBG MOBILE team is looking to add support for higher frame rates.
Players on supported phones will gain two more options to choose between 90 fps and 120fps.
PUBG MOBILE could get this update in India before the end of 2019.
If you have to name one mobile game in an instance, the chances of PUBG MOBILE coming out as an answer would high. The game is presently one of the few to have unbelievably high engagement rate than its rivals and with every new update, it only keeps on getting better. And this game is a major reason we get to see high-performance gaming phones in the market with high refresh rate screens and special hardware upgrades. And now, the PUBG MOBILE team is willing to do some justice to the users of these phones.
So far, PUBG MOBILE has been supporting high frame rates of a maximum 60 fps on high-performance phones with flagship chips. However, with many gaming phones now offering high refresh rate screens, the game is still unable to take advantage of the hardware. Hence, if you have a OnePlus 7 Pro, you are not utilizing the full 90Hz refresh rate while playing PUBG MOBILE on it as the game does not support such high frame rates.
However, according to popular PUBG MOBILE tipster Mr.GhostGaming, the PUBG MOBILE team is looking to add support for higher frame rates that can do justice to the great screens on these phones. PUBG MOBILE is now expected to bring support for high refresh rates up to 120 fps. The leaked screenshot shows that players will continue to get the existing four frame rate options as standard but players on OnePlus 7 Pro and other gaming phones with high refresh rate screens will gain two more options to choose between 90 fps and 120fps.
What does it mean for the players? Well, expect your PUBG MOBILE experience to become buttery smooth. High refresh rate screen can make movements seem smoother than usual. And for expert players, it can make it easier for them to play the game. Wouldn’t that be unfair on players with low-end phones? That’s something the PUBG MOBILE team will have to ponder over.
This feature could roll out to the stable version of the game within this year as more gaming phones are coming out in the market. Even upcoming mainstream phones such as the OnePlus 7T is expected to gain a 90Hz screen as standard and it would be only better for PUBG players who will play it on this phone.
