he war of words between Kangana Ranaut and Alia Bhatt doesn’t seem to be ending soon. After Kangana took a dig at Alia’s performance in Gully Boy, the Kalank actress has now reacted to Kangana’s comment.
Recently in an interview, when Kangana Ranaut’s performance was compared to that of Alia in Gully Boy, the Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi actress got irritated on the comparison and said, “I am embarrassed. What is there to beat in Gully Boy Performance? Same snappy muh phat girl. Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far. Stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.”
When Alia was asked about her reaction, she said, “I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way she must have reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough.”
This is not the first time Alia Bhatt has played diplomatic while handling Kangana’s remark. Earlier, when Kangana Ranaut accused Alia and Aamir Khan for not supporting her during the release of Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, Alia Bhatt said she would like to respond to her personally if she has any complaints. She added, “I don’t want to talk about it in the media. As I have said before, I really admire her as an actor and the choices that she makes. She’s a very outspoken person and I admire her for that as well. If I have upset her unintentionally, then I don’t know. Basically, it wasn’t my intention. I didn’t do anything to get a reaction like this.”
